This week’s TWD is a recipe I’ve had my eye on for a while; it is Tarte Noir chosen by Dharmagirl of bliss: towards a delicious life (page 351). A simple, elegant and incredibly rich chocolate tart, how could I resist?
As usual, I’m down to the wire for my posting deadline, so let’s get right to it…
As I mentioned, I’ve had my eye on this one for a while but we’ve had quite a few sweets around the house lately courtesy of a number of celebratory events so I wanted to make this a bit more travel and sharing friendly. I made the chocolate tart dough and divided it among 24 mini muffin cups to make tiny (almost) bite sized tart shells. I made the filling according to the recipe – it turns out that was just a bit too much for my mini tarts but I don’t mind eating the filling plain, or on ice cream or drizzled over another dessert, or….but I digress.
I think these Tarte Noir Bites are a perfect presentation for such intense chocolate flavor – eat one for just a taste or indulge in several if you are a true chocoholic.
Thanks to Dharmagirl for such a great pick this week. As always, the full recipe can be found on our hostess’ site (or in Dorie’s book) and take a peak through the blog roll for more vicarious chocolate fun.
